Two Men Charged in Break-In at Holliston Firearms Training School

Authorities have arrested two 18-year-old men in connection with a late-night break-in at a Holliston firearms school, where weapons were allegedly stolen. The incident, which took place last month, has led to multiple charges and an ongoing multi-agency investigation into the missing firearms. This case highlights rising concerns about firearms theft, illegal possession, and criminal activity targeting licensed gun dealers.

Arrests and Charges Filed

Suspects Identified

According to officials, Jason Liberis, 18, of Oxford, and Bryan Ayala Perez, 18, of Johnston, Rhode Island, were taken into custody for their alleged involvement. Both men face several serious charges, including:

  • Breaking and entering in the nighttime
  • Breaking and entering from a firearms dealer
  • Unlawful possession of a firearm
  • Unlawful possession of a large-capacity weapon
  • Conspiracy

The charges were announced by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Holliston Police Chief Matthew Stone.

Details of the Arrests

Liberis was arrested Friday morning in Oxford and arraigned in Framingham District Court, where a judge ordered him held until a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Monday.
Ayala Perez was located and arrested in Palm Springs, Florida, and will be arraigned in Massachusetts once extradition is approved.

Break-In at Mass Firearms School

How the Incident Unfolded

The suspects allegedly targeted Mass Firearms School, the state’s largest firearms training facility, which also operates an indoor shooting range and retail shop. Officers responded on October 30, just before 11:30 p.m., after a report of a breaking and entering in progress.

Surveillance Footage

Video evidence reportedly showed three masked individuals dressed in dark clothing moving around the building. Two of the suspects entered the firearms retail store, where surveillance cameras captured them stealing two semi-automatic rifles before escaping in a four-door sedan.

Officials said their investigation identified Liberis and Ayala Perez as two of the three suspects seen on the video.

Stolen Vehicle Used in the Crime

Authorities revealed that the group allegedly arrived at the firearms school in a stolen vehicle. Investigators believe Ayala Perez stole the car from a convenience store parking lot in Johnston, Rhode Island, before traveling to Holliston with Liberis and the unidentified third suspect.

According to the district attorney’s office, Ayala Perez acted as the lookout while Liberis and the other suspect broke inside and stole the weapons.

Ongoing Investigation

The stolen semi-automatic rifles have not yet been recovered. The investigation involves several agencies, including:

  • Middlesex District Attorney’s Office
  • Holliston Police Department
  • Massachusetts State Police
  • Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF)
  • Homeland Security Investigations

Officials say the search for the third suspect and the missing firearms remains active.
